Where We Work

The Kuunika Project has interventions at national, district, and facility levels.

National Level

The Kuunika Project has interventions at national, district and facility levels. At national level, the interventions are around supporting data governance, data supply, and data use. Additionally, the Project is supporting work on integration and interoperability of systems which is a national level effort.

District Level

In addition to the national level interventions, the Kuunika Project is supporting districts through data improvement effort at the facility level and data management and use effort at the district level. In the first 2 years, running until September 2018, the Kuunika Project is supporting a full package in 5 districts including Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba, Thyolo and Mangochi. In the second phase, from 2018-2020, the Project will support additional 5 districts which will be decided based on the criteria of HIV burden.

Facility Level

The Kuunika Project is supporting facilities through training and capacity building, as well as implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and improving paper based systems in facilities across project districts.

What exactly does the kuunika project do?

Linking fragmented systems to enable consistent supply of data to the central repository where information is analyzed.

Facilitate more frequent us of health data in routine decision-making.
Strengthen health data governance to enable streamlining, access, and more routine use of data.
